ABOUT

Tin Pan Signs

My name is Dylan Gough, I'm a sign painter based out of Quincy MA.

Originally started as just a side project, Tin Pan has become a full time operation and is ready to become your go to sign shop in the Boston Metro area (and beyond!).

Tin Pan Signs was founded in 2020, but I have been in the signage industry since 2016. Through my experience with small local businesses, corporate offices and residential projects, I've built a reputation for reliability, high quality craftsmanship, and lasting client relationships.

My background includes seasonal work at Fenway Park, as well as a formative apprenticeship under one of Boston’s most prolific sign painters, where I developed a strong foundation in traditional techniques, and attention to detail.

Where does the "Tin Pan" come from?

The name "Tin Pan" was lifted directly from the band "Tin Pan Alley", a collective of legendary Japanese musicians led by Haruomi Hosono (of YMO fame).

I first learned of the group through my wife, and ever since then, their music has always been a meaningful part of our relationship, especially during our travels to her hometown of Sapporo.

Going back to the city she grew up in, and being surrounded by an incredible network of friends, has always been a strong source of inspiration for us, and a motivating factor in both our personal and professional lives. The name serves as a nod to our shared history and experiences.
